Deborah Miscia, Founder of Heroes Lost at Home, Inc (HLAH), a 501(c)3 non-profit veteran's organization and President and Founder of Purple Griffon, LLC, creating veteran components for corporations and businesses. Past Junior Vice Commander for DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter 82. Married to a severely injured Army Veteran, who served for more than 10 years. Previously, the first female to own and operate a handicap specific construction company in New Jersey.

Creating community events, community awareness, wellness and sanctuary for ill and disabled veterans as well as caregivers for the past 7 years. Deborah is previously from New Jersey, where the foundation for her own struggles and effort began. She now resides in Southwest Florida, where her understanding and compassion go hand in hand with walking the paths of almost every caregiver and veteran she comes in contact with. Optimism is a key component of "New Normal" living. She attempts to pass on that optimism to everyone she meets.

A native of Gainesville, GA and raised in Garner, NC, Donnie earned both Eagle Scout and Hank Maddox Leadership awards before attending the United States Military Academy at West Point to play varsity football and study Portuguese. After a career-ending knee injury playing for the Black Knights, he transferred to Liberty University, earning a B.S. in Government. Upon successful injury rehabilitation, Donnie accepted a Commission as an Ordnance Officer in the United States Army, serving in various leadership roles of increasing responsibility at both CONUS & overseas installations, thereby receiving an Honorable Discharge in 2010. Donnie continued to serve overseas as a civilian contractor, leading complex teams in support of international logistics contracts.

Transitioning into international energy markets, Donnie supported drilling service operations with FMC Technologies, being quickly promoted to Safety Officer and Shop Manager for FMC Technologies’ highest revenue US Surface Facility in 2013. During this period, Donnie & Michele were blessed with a daughter who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect which necessitated their move to Houston prior to Madison’s passing at 10 months old.

Donnie accepted a US Operations Manager position with Control Union Industrial Inspections, eventually becoming Vice President responsible for spearheading all strategic business development, fiduciary control, organizational development, and customer success initiatives for North American and Caribbean activities, as well responsible for perfecting relationships within government, commercial, and community markets. He is married to his wonderful wife, Michele, who is also a 10-year Army Veteran, with two additional children- Donnie IV and Maeleigh. Donnie is the 2019 NOMADS Houston Chapter Treasurer, an active member in church Bible study and Montgomery County, TX Search & Rescue. Heroes Lost at Home affords Donnie and his family the continued opportunity to strive for success by serving our nation’s disabled and wounded Veterans through outdoor, retreat-based tailored programs.
